It has been a rough few weeks for me. Even though I have been working out 5-6 days a week, my weight has been at a plateau and I have been doing the Daniel Fast, which is a spiritual fast, but my body is so drained from doing all of these fasts lately, that I really need to get back on a well-balanced meal plan. I need to give my body the nourishment it needs because obviously, I am not giving it enough of something. Anyways, I broke the fast yesterday while celebrating at the skating rink for my sons 5th birthday. I felt bad because this fast was for spiritual reasons and I normally can last through any situation.
I did not plan for myself yesterday, something that I normally am on top of. I am a part-time traveling hairstylist and went to do a client turned good friend's hair at 7:30am. I did have half an apple and a handful of grapes with a cup of green tea for my breakfast. Afterwards, I had to run a few errands before my babies party began at 1:30pm and by the time I finished it was time to go get the kids, freshen up a bit and head out to the skating rink.
We all know that there are not any healthy alternatives at a skating rink, but by this time, I was really starving and developing a headache. So I had a slice of cheese pizza with many cups of water. It was very good and satisfying but I felt guilty. The whole moral of this story is to ALWAYS ALWAYS plan your meals... I know that it is okay to have a "cheat" day, but don't let a "cheat" day occur due to the fact of you not planning. There was a lot of good that came out of this experience though, My son and family enjoyed themselves and I found me a new love out of this whole adventure...SKATING!!! :-)... I really enjoyed learning how to skate again and I will be taking myself and my kids once or twice a month. It was fun and a great way to get some cardio in without feeling like you're actually working out. Next time, I will plan and make sure that I prepare my snacks and have myself a nice filling green smoothie before going to the skating rink.
