5 Day Smoothie Fast

I am starting a 5 day smoothie fast on Monday, November 4, 2013. I am doing this just to pretty much detox and cleanse my body to prepare myself for my journey to becoming a Pescetarian (A person who doesn't eat any meat except fish) and then a vegetarian. Even though I haven't eaten beef or pork for over 15 years, I loved me some chicken, any way you prepare it I'll eat it (Except fried).. Lol... So this is going to be a challenge for me. But green smoothie here I come... This is one of my favorite green smoothie protein shakes.



Green Smoothie Recipe

 
A simple smoothie recipe with tropical fruit and kale.

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop plain or vanilla protein powder
  • 1 large kale leaf (over 1 cup chopped)
  • 2 cups low fat milk or almond milk ( I use Almond Milk )
  • 3/4 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 3/4 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 frozen banana

Directions:

  1. Prepare ahead: Cut all fruit into 1 inch chunks and place in separate freezer bags. Freeze. (You can find these items precut and frozen in most grocery stores.)
  2. To make: Place all ingredients in a heavy-duty blender and puree until smooth.
  3. Makes one enormous servings,  2 large servings, or 3 small servings.
